25 years OPOSSUM design
In 1998 we founded the company OPOSSUM design.
Originally started literally on the kitchen table, we now develop and produce our items in the areas of design-oriented home and garden accessories, gift items and tea accessories in a scenically inspiring area. Under the brand name VEJTSBERG, small pieces of furniture such as chests of drawers, tables, wardrobes, but also lights in the classic modern style and bicycle holders with perfect function and design are also created.
With continuous new developments and trade fair appearances in Frankfurt ( Ambiente and Tendence ), in Paris ( Maison & Objet ), in Birmingham, Stockholm, London and Toronto, over these 24 years we have been able to attract customers such as the SFMOMA (Museum of Modern Art San Francisco), the Royal Academy of Art in London, the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Fondation BEYERLE in Basel, the Museum Frieder Burda and the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. In addition to internationally active, high-quality mail order catalogs such as Cairo, Ikarus, ProIdee, Heine and Biber and renowned department stores, some items are available in selected furniture stores and design boutiques. KaDeWe also used our birdhouses for Christmas decorations, together with Santa Claus and a white reindeer
We produce in Germany and pay our taxes and duties here. Our products are child labor free, without wage dumping, made with parts, many produced by local companies in our immediate area. This is our concept of social responsibility and sustainability.
On the topic of sustainability
Things have never been different for us. Today almost every company uses the word sustainability. Sometimes we can't hear it anymore, especially when it's just pure marketing. At trade fairs like Ambiente, trend books are published and the color of the year is chosen so that next year pot sets etc. can be advertised in a new color world, declaring last year's as outdated. Sustainable??? Trends are good for those people who don't (yet) have their own style. Our objects are therefore timeless in their design. Sustainably produced using long-lasting materials, preferably with local suppliers.
